Cotto dice que De la Hoya le hace daño al boxeo
"Esta pelea es uno de los casos en los cuales uno se da cuenta de dónde ha caído el boxeo. El deporte está en el lugar donde se encuentra por culpa de peleas como ésta, por culpa de peleadores como De la Hoya", dijo Cotto en unas declaraciones exclusivas al diario puertorriqueño 'Primera Hora'.

De la Hoya (39-5, 30 nocauts) se medirá al filipino Pacquiao (47-3, 35 nocauts) el 6 de diciembre en el MGM Grand de Las Vegas, en un combate pautado en las 147 libras del peso welter. El peso máximo de Pacquiao ha sido 135 libras y apenas peleó una vez en esa categoría de los ligeros, cuando noqueó a David Díaz en junio.
El 'Golden Boy' por su parte tuvo una corta y fracasada incursión en el peso mediano (160 libras) en el 2004 cuando venció hum, realmente le dieron una paliza pero no convenía porque se le caía su pelea siguiente al alemán Felix Sturm, antes de caer noqueado contra Bernard Hopkins, pero brilló en el súper welter (154 lbs.) y el welter.
"Él (De la Hoya) evade el boxeador que le representa peligro y prefiere tomar a un Pacquiao que viene de hacer su segunda pelea en 135 libras ahora para subir a las 147 y no le representa peligro", agregó Cotto en su entrevista con 'Primera Hora'.
