El tipo se llama Peter Buckley y seguramente no has escuchado de él. Yo menos. Hasta ayer cuando me topé con la noticia de que se estaba retirando, que no seguiría haciendo lo que venía haciendo. Resulta que este individuo era boxeador. O al menos así se hacía llamar. Este inglés no va a pelear más. Su última pelea será este viernes. Menos mal, porque sin dudas debe tener el honor de ser el boxeador más malo del mundo. No es un cuento que estoy inventando. Este tipo tiene 299 peleas y ¿saben cuántas perdió? Pues 256. Así como lo están leyendo. El tipo era una pera humana. Llevaba golpes a diestra y siniestra.
Esta derrota con patas, sin embargo e increíblemente, no ha sido el tipo con más reveses en el boxeo. Ese deshonroso título se lo lleva Reggie Strickland, un estadounidense que perdió 276 veces.
Volviendo a Buckley, quien ha perdido 85 de sus últimos 87 combates, hay que decir que el tipo ha cumplido un cometido en el boxeo: el tipo ha servido de carne humana para algunos campeones.

Por ejemplo, Buckley, quien hizo su debut en 1989, ha enfrentado -y perdido obviamente- a varios sujetos que eventualmente terminaron coronándose, no sólo en su país, sino en el mundo, entre ellos Duke McKenzie, Naseem Hamed, Acelino Freitas, Paul Ingle, Patrick Mullings, Dean Pithie, Jason Booth, Michael Brodie, Scott Harrison, Michael Gomez y Johnny Bredahl.
En abril del 2003 se le entregó antes de su pelea número 200 un pequeño trofeo para celebrar este "honor" y por supuesto, no hace falta añadir que perdió este combate.
