Los equipos ingleses, multipresentes en la Champions

El Arsenal se clasificó por los pelos tras la tanda de penalties en Roma, pero siguió los pasos de sus paisanos Liverpool y Manchester United, que se han clasificado con más clase, y del Chelsea, que se sacó de encima a la Juventus. Una vez más, en los cuartos de final habrá cuatro equipos ingleses, como el año pasado, en que la final la disputaron el Manchester y el Chelsea.

Este hecho no es ninguna coincidencia, sino que demuestra una temporada más la superioridad de la Premiership sobre las demás ligas europeas, particularmente la española, que sólo contará con dos representantes en cuartos de final, el Barça y el Villareal.

La Prermiership tiene más gancho que la liga, más emoción, más variedad, y en consecuencia, más dinero. También tiene unos directivos que se preocupan por mejorar la competición y unos clubes dispuestos a negociar en conjunto los derechos televisivos, y no cada uno por su lado. Las consecuencias, por tanto, no deberían sorprender a nadie.
