Muy Inflado Nuevo Escándalo de A. Rod
Mayo es el mes de los juegos inter-ligas, pero en este 2009, también lo es de unos Phillies Campeones Mundiales con lesionados valiosos, como los lanzadores Cole Hamels (hombro, codo y tobillo) y Brad Lidge (rodilla). También es mayo 2009, el mes de los Cameones de la Americana, los Rays, en último lugar de su División. Y es el mes del regreso a juego y al escándalo de Alex Rodríguez.

El libro "A-Rod" de Selena Roberts, periodista de "The Sporting News", quien reveló el consumo de esteroides por Alex en 2003, aparece en el mercado al mismo tiempo que el slugger y tercera base regresa al juego con los Yankees, después de su operación en la cadera derecha. El texto parece muy rebuscado, producto de rumores, con más fisonomía de chismes faranduleros que de investigaciones serias.
Lo que dice ahora Selena es que Alex consumió esteroides desde sus años en high school, y sugiere que ya con los Yankees, se inyectaba hormonas de crecimiento humano (HCH).
Con 553 jonrones, Alex Rodríguez esta llamado a ser el primero que alcance el record de los 762 de Barry Bonds, pero es posible que tanta atención de los medios por su vida privada, le molesten en la concentración.
A-Rod ha disparado entre 35 y 57 jonrones en cada una de sus 11 temporadas de bigleaguer.
El nuevo libro cuenta que cuando estuvo con los Rangers (2001-2003), Alex éra tal prima donna, que ordenaba a uno de los muchachos que atendían el clubhouse le pusiera la pasta detífrica en el cepillo tras de cada juego. Y el equipo tenía que mandarle cestas de comida a las suites que él ocupaba durante los viajes. Eso no es delito alguno. Quizá lo merece.
En otras páginas se refiere el libro a Alex Rodríguez con los Yankees. Cita una posible rivalidad con Derek Jeter, y la pregunta que, según el libro, a menudo ha hecho A-Rod en voz alta...: "¿Quién es mejor, yo Derek?"
Cierto, lo publicado hasta ahora del contenido de las páginas de "A-Rod", da la impresión de que es más un rosario de especulaciones con chismes baratones y sin pruebas, que denuncias realmente serias.
Evidentemente, Selena ha quetido capitalizar sin tener cómo hacerlo, el éxito de su descubrimiento hace dos meses, de que Alex usó esteroides entre 2001 y 2003.
