Eso sería un dineral, porque Raúl juega profesionalmente desde 1992, cuando con los Marineros, estuvo en la liga de novatos de Arizona. Y este año recibe de la organización de Philadelphia, siete millones 166 mil 666 dólares. Está firmado hasta 2011.
¿Cuál sería la reacción si Major League Baseball obligara a devolver too lo que han ganado en el beisbol Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmeiro, Roger Clemens, Sammy Sosa, Alex Rodríguez, Andy Pettitte y los 103 de la misteriosa lista que ocultan, ¡quién sabe por qué!, MLB y la Major League Baseball Players Association?.
Desde luego, se trataría de la medida más revolucionaria desde la desaparición de la cláusula de reserva en favor del arbitraje y los agentes libres.
Ibáñez, bateador de 286 de por vida en las Mayores, comenzó en la pelota profesional como receptor hasta que en 1996 lo convirtieron en outfielder.
El año pasado fue elegido El Más Valioso de los Marineros, antes de declararse agente libre y firmar con los Phillies. Fue la segunda vez que mereció esos honores. La otra, en 2006.
