El Salón de la Fama le queda chico a Michael Jordan
Está claro que sin Jordan no existiría un Lebron James, un Kobe Bryant, ni alguien como Usain Bolt, quien asegura mostrar la marca de sus calcetines cada vez que rompe un récord.
Pues Michael Jordan fue el mejor, sin duda alguna.

Eso fue lo que Charles Barkley tuvo que reconocer en 1984,
cuando llegó a las prácticas del equipo olímpico de Estados Unidos
con la idea de que era el mejor jugador de Estados Unidos y se fue
sabiendo que alguien más era mejor.
"Creo que no sería justo ni realista decir que pensé que él iba
a terminar siendo el más grande basquetbolista de todos los
tiempos", dijo Barkley, "pero sabía que era bueno".
Muchos más coincidieron en que Jordan era el mejor en los 25años posteriores.

de siempre.
"Oh, sí, y me parece que eso se queda corto", dijo el gerente
general de los Suns de Phoenix y ex compañero de Jordan, Steve
Kerr.
Y ahora Jordan toma su lugar junto a todos los grandes que lo
precedieron.
Jordan será consagrado el viernes en el Salón de la Fama, una
distinción culminante para alguien que ya ha ganado todo lo demás.
David Robinson, John Stockton, el entrenador Jerry Sloan del
Jazz de Utah y la entrenadora C. Vivian Stringer del equipo
femenino de la Universidad de Rutgers son los otros miembros de la
Generación del 2009. Pero la atención está en gran medida en
Jordan, quien seis veces se coronó campeón en la NBA, cinco veces
fue el Jugador Más Valioso y 10 veces fue el mayor anotador.
Otros han ganado más o anotado más, pero Jordan podría
superarlos a todos.
"Creo que hay que ser realistas", dijo Barkley. "Michael
Jordan, para mí, es el mejor basquetbolista de todos los tiempos".
Su ingreso al Salón de la Fama genera una atención sin
precedente que ha forzado el traslado de la ceremonia a la sala de
conciertos Symphony Hall de la Sinfónica de Springfield, con una
capacidad de 2.600 personas que es más del doble del Salón de la
Fama.
"Cada generación es especial, de eso no hay duda, pero esta
parece estar un poco más arriba de una generación normal y
evidentemente se debe a quién está en la generación", dijo el
presidente del Salón de la Fama, John Doleva.
"No sólo Michael Jordan, sino los otros que están con él en
esta generación. Pero él suscita una gran notoriedad y mucho
interés, y obviamente tiene una muy amplia plataforma de
aficionados en el mundo, así que yo diría que ésta es la
consagración más grande que hayamos tenido".
