Vitali Klitschko peleará contra Sosnowski
Que Vitali Klitschko haya firmado por una pelea contra Albert Sosnowski sólo es comprensible si se entiende que estamos ante una división de pesos pesados paupérrimos. No nos podemos olvidar que en la categoría de pesos pesados hay boxeadores, como Nikolay Valuev, John Ruiz y un veterano Oleg Maskaev, que han llegado a ser titulares, donde James Toney aún tiene algo de poder y donde el sobre peso ha llegado a considerarse dentro de la norma.Después de un retorno muy exitoso, V. Klitschko ha optado por bajar las revoluciones y enfrentar a Sosnoswki (45-2), el 29 de mayo, en el Veltins Arena de Gelsenkirchen, el mismo estadio donde su hermano menor, hace un año, tuvo una acogida espectacular en esa suerte de unificación que fue Klitschko/Chagaev. Vitali, entonces, está apostando por una pelea fácil antes de culminar su carrera –ya lo ha dicho antes– en una súper pelea contra David Haye, con quien espera pelear dentro de algunos meses, a menos, claro, que su hermano se interponga: "Tal vez decidamos con una moneda quién peleará contra Haye. Espero que mi hermano me haga caso".
Parte de culpa por este fiasco de pelea, Klitschko/Sosnowski, la tiene Nikolay Valuev, quien se negó tercamente, por razones económicas, a pelear contra Vitali. Después de Valuev, Vitali ya no tenía muchas opciones: Povetkin y Chambers, dos contendientes algo notables que tiene la división, se encuentran en fila para pelear contra Wladimir Klitschko. Ruslan Chagaev ya perdió, precisamente contra Wladimir, y el resto –Dimitrenko, Tua, Toney, Thompson– ya está en proceso de descomposición. (Lo óptimo hubiera sido que Vitali ya no pierda el tiempo y pelee contra Haye de una buena vez. No se pudo debido a que el ex campeón crucero tiene una necesidad imperiosa que debe atender primero para acallar a los dirigentes de la A.M .B: pelear contra John Ruiz.)

Tener que respetar a los contendientes que pronto digerirá su hermano menor, y tener que soportar la pérdida de tiempo por la obligación que la A.M .B. le ha impuesto a Haye, no hubiera sido problema si la división contara con un poco de profundidad. Entonces, estamos ante un panorama desolador que no ha dejado otro camino a Vitali, una especie de víctima del poco talento que pulula en los pesos pesados.No tengo nada contra Albert Sosnowski y espero que tenga, al margen de la paliza que probablemente le dará Klitschko, una carrera exitosa, pero los rankings no mienten y el único lugar donde se menciona su nombre es en el puesto #13 del C.M.B. Asimismo, Sosnoswki, polaco que quiere triunfar donde Golota no pudo, es el campeón del devaluado título europeo y no posee ni una pegada contundente (tiene 27 nocauts en 45 peleas) ni aspecto alguno donde sobresalga.

Sosnoswki se mostró, a propósito, educado, afable y cordial en la declaración que dio a través de su página web. Sabe su papel en esta pelea y, al parecer, trata de no acomplejarse al respecto: "Quiero agradecer al equipo Klitschko por la oferta. Respeto mucho a mi oponente y su nivel, pero eso no significa que le tengo miedo o que no tengo chance de ganar. Quiero hacer lo que Andrew Golota no pudo. Nadie va a salir decepcionado de que yo haya sustituido a Nikolay Valuev. Algunos podrán decir que no estoy preparado para esta pelea, pero, como dijo Shakespeare, es mejor llegar tres horas antes que un minuto tarde. No llegaré tarde a la pelea más importante de mi vida".
La elocuencia de Sosnowski le da, sin duda, un matiz diferente. Aunque no merece la chance, que la aproveche en cuanto pueda y, al igual que sorprendió con su cita de Shakespeare, que sorprenda demostrándonos que está para mejores cosas que el circuito europeo.
