A-Rod tumba otro récord
A-Rod bateó un cuadrangular solitario en la cuarta entrada ante Brian Matusz y un elevado de sacrificio en la sexta entrada en el partido que perdieron los Yanquis de Nueva York por 4-3 ante los Orioles de Baltimore.
Rodríguez superó a grandes bateadores como Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig y Jimmie Foxx, quienes alcanzaron las 100 producidas en 13 ocasiones.
"Es una cifra sorprendente. Simplemente demuestra qué tan consistente suele ser", afirmó el piloto de los Yanquis, Joe Girardi."Le llegó este logro a una temprana edad y ha tenido un desempeño muy uniforme durante toda su carrera. Es una hazaña bastante sorprendente", agregó.
Rodríguez tiene 13 temporadas consecutivas con 100 remolcadas y con 22 cuadrangulares, también tiene posibilidades de llegar a 30 cuadrangulares por 13ra temporada en fila y 14ta en total.
El año pasado, Rodríguez necesitó de un jonrón de tres carreras y otro con bases llenas que bateó en la séptima entrada del último partido de la temporada regular de los Yanquis el año pasado para mantener vivas sus rachas de temporadas de al menos 30 jonrones y 100 producidas.
Rodríguez también bateó su jonrón 605 de su carrera y está en séptimo lugar, detrás de Barry Bonds (762), Hank Aaron (755), Ruth (714), Willie Mays (660), Ken Griffey hijo (630) y Sammy Sosa (609).
