Oscar de la Hoya lost his wallet, offers a $1.5 million reward

oscar de la hoya walletMIAMI.- Oscar de la Hoya lost his wallet this past weekend in Anaheim, California, where his mentored fighter, Mexican Saul Alvarez, defeated Matthew Hatton. But that's not what's causing news; De la Hoya is offering $1.5 million to the person who returns the wallet.

The 'Golden Boy' announced on Sunday via Twitter (@oscardelahoya) that the wallet contains articles that are invaluable to him in monetary terms.

"O.k I'll do 1.5 million it's a black thin wallet, there is something in there that money can't buy," he wrote.

"It was a food stamp I had for 28 years and important documents along with a black American express and a black visa.", De la Hoya added on Monday.

The Montebello, California native had a busy weekend around the fight of Alvarez who's highly touted by his company Golden Boy Promotions. De la Hoya, a Mexican-American himself, has said that Alvarez could turn into the next Julio Cesar Chavez or even Muhammad Ali.

Alvarez didn't meet the weight requirements on Friday (he weighed at 151.4 lbs. surpassing the 150 lbs. agreed limit) and had to pay $70,000 in fines.

However, the 20 year old boxer was able to deliver an unanimous decision against Hatton on Saturday night to obtain the World Boxing Council super welter title.
