CIUDAD DEL CABO, Sudáfrica (AP) - Sin mucha claridad y trabados en el mediocampo, Uruguay y Francia empataron el viernes sin goles para completar la primera jornada del Mundial.

México y Sudáfrica igualaron 1-1 en Johannesburgo en el otro encuentro del Grupo A en la inauguración del torneo.

Uruguay jugó con un hombre menos los últimos 20 minutos por la expulsión de Nicolás Lodeiro por una plancha sobre Bacary Sagna. El volante había entrado a la cancha apenas 18 minutos antes y vio dos amarillas.

"El partido estaba bien para los dos, no había mucho peligro pero la expulsión nos condicionó bastante", comentó el delantero uruguayo Diego Forlán.

Sidney Govou desperdició la ocasión más clara de gol a los siete minutos cuando remató desviado un centro rasante desde la izquierda de Franck Ribery.

El partido corresponde al Grupo A y es el segundo partido de esta Copa del Mundo.Ribery se apoderó de la banda izquierda y siempre que tocó la pelota con claridad generó algo de peligro, aunque a medida que transcurrió el encuentro la marca celeste lo fue apagando.

Fiel a su estilo, el técnico francés Raymond Domenech alineó a Nicolas Anelka solo en la punta, y el artillero del Chelsea no tuvo ningún carril para llegar al arco defendido por el uruguayo Fernando Muslera. El capitán uruguayo Diego Lugano se encargó exclusivamente de apagar al "Puma".

La mejor de Uruguay fue un potente remate de Forlán desde el borde del área a los 16 que el arquero francés Hugo Lloris tapó sin mucho problema. Dos minutos después, Muslera se lució al lanzarse para sacar del ángulo un tiro libre de Yoann Gourcuff.



El resto del partido transcurrió sin muchas novedades, con una celosa marca de la defensa francesa sobre Forlán y su compañero en el ataque celeste, Luis Suárez.

Un remate de lejos de Jeremy Toulalan a los 56, que Muslera tapó sin aprietos, y un balazo desviado de Forlán a los 73 fueron las únicas acciones que elevaron el pulso el resto del partido.

Forlán y Suárez lucieron solos y poco auxiliados por el resto del equipo, encadenado atrás para contener la delantera francesa.

"Tuvimos un par de situaciones, nos faltó de tres cuartos de cancha enganchar y tocar más", indicó Forlán.

El cerrojo a cuatro con Alvaro Pereira, Lugano, Mauricio Victorino y Diego Godín dio resultados ante la presión con la que salieron los galos, siempre apostando a alguna genialidad de Ribery.

Conforme se acercó el pitazo final y con la salida obligada de Lodeiro, Uruguay cedió la iniciativa a Francia, que por más que trató no pudo anotar.

El áspero encuentro cerró con seis tarjetas amarillas y una roja.
