En el cotejo que tuvo lugar en el estadio 'Nemesio Díez Riega', Toluca sufrió la expulsión del colombiano Luis Arias cuando se jugaba el minuto diez de la primera parte, luego de propinarle un codazo a Jesús Zavala.

Pero el Real Madrid le pudo a la nieve, al iluso BATE de Minsk, y sobre todo, a sí mismo. Por fin, jugadores como Gui cuajaron un buen encuentro, sin excusas –ni la nieve ni nada- y el equipo se pudo llevar los tres puntos. Vaya ridículo que los blancos hicieron ante la Juventus de Turín, que aunque le deje en el segundo puesto de la clasificación de su grupo, le resta confianza y prestigio en Europa. Las apuestas a favor al Real Madrid ganando la copa de Europa este año cayeron en picado, con al menos siete clubes con más potencial de ganar el preciado torneo, según los apostantes.
Y es que no hay más que mirar las imágenes para ver a un Real Madrid descompuesto, sin hambre ni capacidad para doblegar a una Juve plagada de suplentes. Nada más revelador que un Guti que pierde el balón en el medio del campo, y que tan siquiera se molesta en ir a por el contrario que se ha aprovechado de su mal pase. Cabalgando casi a trote gorrinero, Guti siguió lentamente, sin ninguna intención de molestar, al jugador contrario que finalmente metió el gol. Cierto que el objetivo se cumplió, cierto que algún día el ritmo iba a bajar, cierto que los jugadores también tienen un límite: pero también es cierto que si uno quiere competir y ganar, no se puede relajar.

Cuánta razón tiene el Atlético de Madrid en quejarse del penalti pitado en contra en tiempo de descuento, que permitió al Liverpool empatar un partido que tenía perdido. Por juego y posición en el campo, los Atléticos hicieron todo lo que no hacen en la Liga, y cuajaron un partido serio que bien les mereció la victoria.
Pero ahora ya no hay que lamentarse. Uno no puede ir de pupas en el fútbol, que no entiende de excusas sino de resultados. Nadie recuerda si un equipo ganó esto o aquello por suerte –aunque los que ganan siempre la tienen.
Hay momentos en los que sólo cabe mirar hacia delante, y si uno quiere ser campeón, sobrellevar adversidades, aunque sean tan fastidiosas como un injusto penalti en contra en el último minuto, es obligatorio. Como se dice en inglés: "move on."
