Shea Stadium es ya solo un grato recuerdo en la historia del beisbol. Y Yankee Stadium es desmantelado de manera inmisericorde. Pero hay otros estadios de Grandes Ligas abandonados y tan erectos comos esos iletrados soldados que pululan por ahí.
Las franelas, o t-shirts, con la figura del argentino Ernesto (Ché) Guevara al frente, y el letrero "Viva El Che", han sido tan populares en todo Estados Unidos durante los últimos 40 años, como las dedicadas a los Cachorros, los Medias Rojas o los Yankees.
La diferencia es que en la mayoría de los casos, quienes llevan puesta la franela con el logo de algunos de esos equipos, saben de qué se trata, mientras que ocho de cada 10 de quienes usan las del Ché, ignoran quién fue y por qué es famoso el personaje. Sí, el 80%, según encuesta en 31 de los 50 Estados, con participación de 5 mil 391 jóvenes de 21 años o menos, no saben quién fue El Che, aun cuando sí compran y visten las t-shirts.

Entre tanto pesar, lo mejor que se le ocurrió fue bautizar a su hija con el nombre de Shea.
