El campeón del Tour de Francia Alberto Contador reveló que ha dado positivo en un control anti dopaje de esa competencia, según varios reportes. "Ha sido por comida contaminada este caso del cual soy yo la víctima", dijo Contador en rueda de prensa en la cual citó específicamente el consumo de una carne el día antes del examen que pudo haber dado, según él, el resultado falso.
El tres veces campeón de la prueba elite del ciclismo salió positivo el 21 de julio, sólo días antes de alzar el título de 2010. El ciclista ha atribuido el asunto a comida contaminada, pero de ser cierto se convertirá en el segundo en ganar la carrera y que luego se le encuentran ilegalidades en pruebas de drogas. Floyd Landis fue el otro en 2006.
"Alberto Contador está afectado por un problema de control de dopaje del último Tour de Francia reportado el 21 de julio, en el cual la sustancia encontrada fue clenbuterol", dijo el publicista del ciclista español a través de un comunicado. El examen se realizó después del segundo descanso en Pau, en los Pirineos.
"Desde la primera comunicación de la UCI (Unión Internacional de Ciclistas) el 24 de agosto, Alberto Contador alegó comida contaminada como la única explicación posible para lo que pasó y ha dejado todo en manos de las autoridades del ciclismo, con la confianza de que este serio problema pueda aclararse ahora que es público".
"Los expertos consultados hasta ahora han concordado en que este es un caso de comida contaminada, especialmente considerando el número de exámenes por los que pasó Alberto Contador durante el Tour de Francia, con los cuales de determinó tanto el momento y la minúscula cantidad detectada, descartando cualquier fuente externa o intención".
Tomando la posta como el nuevo mandamás del ciclismo, Alberto Contador se proclamó el domingo campeón del Tour de Francia por tercera vez.Con apenas 27 años, el español Contador cumplió el trámite de la última etapa, un recorrido entre Longjumeau a los Campos Elíseos de la capital francesa, para conseguir su tercer título en cuatro ediciones.
Contador repartió abrazos entre sus compañeros de equipo, quienes cantaban "Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole" en la famosa vía francesa, donde miles de fanáticos se acercaron para animar a los ciclistas.
GUEUGNON, Francia (AP) - El ciclista español Carlos Barredo atacó al portugués Rui Costa en la llegada de la sexta etapa del Tour de Francia el viernes.Se desconocía por el momento el motivo de la pelea.
Imágenes de video colgadas en el cibersitio del diario deportivo L'Equipe mostraron a Barredo, de Quick Step, lanzándose sobre Costa e intentando golpearlo en la cabeza con la rueda de una bicicleta.
Cuando Costa, de Caisse d'Epargne, trató de protegerse, Barredo intentó darle puñetazos en la cara varias veces hasta que ambos rodaron sobre el piso gritando.
Varios espectadores los separaron.
