Isla de Margarita, Ven., 4 Feb. - Leones del Escogido de República Dominicana se perfilan como los favoritos para ganar este Serie del Caribe, luego de vencer el jueves 3-2 a los Leones del Caracas.

Con esta victoria, el cuadro dominicano es el único con marca perfecta de 3-0, mientras que los venezolanos se quedaron con palmarés de 1-2, igual récord que llevan los mexicanos (Naranjeros de Hermosillo) y los puertorriqueños (Indios de Mayaguez).

El ganador de este duelo resultó José Veras (1-0), en partido en el que toleró un imparable, regaló una base y surtió dos chocolates.

Perdió Darwin Cubillán (0-1), con apenas dos tercios de entrada de labor, en el que permitió dos carreras, obsequió dos pasaportes y regaló dos ponches.

El escandaloso fracaso de Dominicana en el llamado clásico, no ha sido "cosas del beisbol", ni "así es el beisbol". La eliminación tempranera del país con más y mejores bigleaguers en Latinoamérica se debió a la desorganización que significa la organización del evento.
